Stacey Pearce, BS, CAS – Sponsor and Program Director

Stacey began working in the substance abuse treatment field in 1995. She began working in the field as the receptionist at GPA Treatment, Inc., a methadone clinic in Doraville, Georgia and later became Program Director from 1998-2002. During her time as Program Director in Doraville, the clinic was involved in the pilot project for all methadone clinics in the United States to become nationally accredited. In March of 2002, Stacey opened GPA Treatment of Macon Inc. and remains the Program Director. Stacey earned her Bachelor in Public and Social Services Degree from Kennesaw State University in 2000 and is a Certified Addiction Specialist. Currently, Stacey is on the Board of Directors for the Opioid Treatment Providers of Georgia (OTPG), is a CARF surveyor, and represents Georgia on the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD) Board. She strives to educate people about medication assisted treatment to assist in the de-stigmatization of this treatment modality for the patient population.

Heather Watkins, LMFT – Substance Abuse Counselor

Heather is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology Degree and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University. Heather has worked in the substance abuse and mental health fields since 2005. Due to Heather’s background in family therapy, she approaches therapy from a systems perspective in which individuals are encouraged to process how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by others. GPA Treatment of Macon, Inc. encourages family participation in treatment for patients who desire.

Barbara Bryant , BA, CAS – Substance Abuse Counselor

Barbara joined GPA Treatment of Macon, Inc. in 2007. She brought with her over 18 years of counseling experience and knowledge from working in various fields, including 4 years at Pulaski State Prison’s RSAT (Residential Substance Abuse Treatment) Program and 3 years as a probation officer with Georgia Corrections Corporation. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Degree from University of Central Florida, Bachelor of Arts in Music Degree from Brewton Parker College, and is a Certified Addiction Specialist. Working at GPA Treatment of Macon, Inc. has allowed Barbara to expand her knowledge of substance abuse disorders and treatment options available to those suffering from the disease of addiction. In her free time, Barbara likes to read, cook, and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
